Running Pump Through A Freeze - Texas

Hello all - So this is our first winter with our new AGP. Here in Texas, we tend to have very mild winters - many times not even reaching freezing temps until Jan-Feb. However, they are projecting that Tomorrow and Wednesday, we will dip down to below freezing for about 7-10 hours each...

    Intex Dual Intake pool

I used to have a small intex and I had the skimmer that attaches to the return. When I got mine, it came with a black plug with a small hole in it and you were to place that over the second return. It minimized the water that flows through the second return. I think the idea was to not...

    Rigid PVC plumbing question

I don't have an Intex, so I can't speak from experience, but my best guess is that the reason most people who hard plumb an Intex Pool leave the pipe on top of the ground is two fold: 1. To aid in the flex factor that you speak about. 2. Because these pools are seasonal for many (taking them...

Confusion with purchasing an ABG pool liner???

I can't really help you in terms of what you should buy, as I am pretty new myself. But with regards to a liner buckling a wall, most of the time it is my understanding that the problem here is usually because people try to install the liner on a day when it is not above certain temps. Being...

    Pool Cleaner not working

You're no newer than me - my install is next week. However, I have done a TON of research and I am pretty sure for an above ground pool, it is best to prime the hose before hooking it up. Otherwise you are making your pump pool all of that air through the line.

    Pool Cleaner not working

Are you priming the hose too? Make sure you fill it with water prior to plugging it into the skimmer so your pump isn't sucking a bunch of air through it.

Intex Side Skimmer Low Water Suction

If you’re gonna do that - which I don’t think should be an issue - then I would recommend that you take the hoses off of the additional inlet so that water in the hoses doesn’t get stagnant and breeds algae, etc.

    Intex 32x16x52” AGP electrical questions

You need to create a signature first so we know what kind of equipment you have. For instance, have you installed a skimmer? First, I am no electrician, but what i had planned was 18” for the electrical line as that is what I had read (btw, you did call 811 before digging, right?). With...

    Burndy Water Bug Question

So I plan to do the bonding of my pool and I am comfortable with everything that needs to be done, but looking at my skimmer, I am a little nervous to drill a hole in there. My biggest question is will the skimmer basket still fit in there after the metal plate is put in? It looks like a...

New AGP Build Soon - Inital Water Fill Test Results

Here is a photo of one that is similar to the one we are installing. As soon as we get it up, or begin the install process, I will start taking pictures and I will post daily (if not multiple times a day)!

New AGP Build Soon - Inital Water Fill Test Results

Thanks Kim - I will take some pictures this weekend to post. For now, here is a picture of the little pool we are replacing. It is already gone. John

Issue Vacuuming Pool - Filter Hose Collapsing In On Itself

One negative to vacuuming to waste is you have to replace water more often. Of course you are filling your filter with stuff when you vacuum in the filter mode which eventually leads to backwashing. However, if you are close to a backwash anyway and you vacuum to waste, then you are going to...

Issue Vacuuming Pool - Filter Hose Collapsing In On Itself

Can you confirm what type of equipment you are using? This will help others that are trying to diagnose your problem.

Issue Vacuuming Pool - Filter Hose Collapsing In On Itself

I’m still an amateur myself, but I assume that you have a sand filter since you say you are pumping to waste (you need to include a signature so we can better assist you without having to ask about your equipment). If so, when you are vacuuming, I don’t think you should be pumping to waste, I...
