Replace Hayward pump or just the motor?

Thanks for the information. Since I have a saltwater chlorinator, won't I need the GoKit 3 made for saltwater? I believe it is the Super Pump Go-Kit Viton Seal kit, at least that is what I read from several of the pool equipment websites.

Replace Hayward pump or just the motor?

The pump you recommended is over $1,600. As mentioned in my post, I have solar panels, never paid an electric bill to date since purchasing this summer home 3 years ago. Energy savings is not a big concern of mine for this reason.

Replace Hayward pump or just the motor?

I have a Hayward Model SP2610X15 pump with a 1 1/2HP Century Model UST1152 motor. This weekend the motor was making a grinding noise, like a bearing was acting up. The pump/motor is over 10 years old, and still working but I would like to replace it before it just fails on me. The question...

New Gas Heater - Check Valve location

I just had a new Hayward H200 gas heater installed. The installer put a new check valve on the discharge side of the sand filter (before inlet to the heater). I also have an existing SWG. Shouldn’t the check valve been installed at the discharge of the heater prior to the SWG?? I haven’t said...

Pentair IC30 - Replace or wait

I have a 12,000-gallon saltwater pool in NJ which has a Pentair IC30 SWG. I purchased the house in August 2020, at the time the Owner told me the pool was converted to salt water back in 2017. Therefore, my Pentair IC30 SWG is around 6 years old. The SWG has been working fine, last season...

    CYA Level Salt water pool

Per this forum it is recommended to keep the CYA levels in a SWG pool somewhere between 70-90 and FC around 5. However, reading the owners manual for the Pentair IChlor 30, it states to maintain CYA between 30-50 and to not exceed FC above 4. Which is the correct levels to follow? Is there any...

Pump off - air bubbles return jet

I just started to notice as of last night that with my pool pump OFF, that I am getting air bubbles coming out of my return jets. How is this possible? What can be wrong?

    IChlor 30 Replacement

So in your opinion, the IntelliChlor IC40 is a better product than the IChlor 30, even though it is older technology?

    IChlor 30 Replacement

This is a stand-alone system. I looked at the CircuPool link you sent, it appears that the SJ Model has an adapter to replace Hayward and Pentair SWG. Are you familiar with this model, and is it a better product (Model SJ) than just replacing the old SWG with another Pentair IChlor 30, if I...

    IChlor 30 Replacement

Availability is one of the issues on the iChlor 30 and is this considered an older outdated product? Would you know if the IChlor 40 can easily be swapped out for the iChlor30, and if so, will I need to modify the piping?

    IChlor 30 Replacement

I have a Pentair IChlor 30 SWG that is approaching 5 years. Looking to replace it before it craps out on me. What SWG would one recommend that I can replace it with and is there a manufacturer/model that would work with no changes to my current piping layout?

    Raising CYA

I did the sock method last week, little increase. Trying to get the CYA to 70 since it is a salt water pool. Should I try the liquid stabilizer or stay with the granular and sock method?? Also, will high PH and Alkalinity cause issues with raising CYA?? Currently I am high on both.

    Raising CYA

I have been having a hard time raising my CYA. Recent test results: PH - 7.8 Alkalinity - 160 CYA - 30 at best, black dot barely went away when all of the mixture was added FC - 3 TC - 3 I added about 3 lbs of cyanuric acid via the sock method last weekend and then added about one pound...

    iChlor 30 Output

Reading the iChlor 30 manual states that the SWG will produce 1 lb of chlorine in 24 hours for a 30,000-gallon pool. So doing the math, my pool is 12,000 gallons, it should produce 2.5 pounds in 24 hours or 0.10 lbs/hr of operation. How can I figure out how many pounds of chlorine will be...
