Ya'll are so funny!!! I wish I had time to answer everyone, but I'm going to move on with the next set of pictures. Yesterday afternoon and evening's pictures of the landscape in one night event.
As soon as the acid guys left yesterday, I jumped in the car to exchange the 50ft hose for a 100ft one. When I pulled up this is what waited in the driveway!!!! Yay! Plants!!!
Look at all those lovely plants!!! I'm in heaven!
That's Wes, the owner of the landscape company. A few of the guys had been itchin' to get the rest of the fence put back up, so I wasn't surprised that this was one of the first things they did. It's a good solid fence and gate, but it needs some power washing and staining. That will wait until fall when it's a little cooler. This part of the fence is very important to Killer, so he will be glad. When it rains, he sits up there at the garage end and sulks with his ears flat. Many times, he doesn't even want inside. He just wants to make sure everyone knows how unhappy he is!!! (I have to include a picture here, too....
Wes wasn't happy that the hardened slurry was still in the backyard where I wanted our swing. He wanted his guys to finish that night, and I wouldn't let them dig the post holes for the big uprights of the swing stand until we could place the swing and see how it looked there - you, what angle, how far forward or how far to the back. So Wes gave up on MMG coming to remove the slurry, so he and the guys broke it up and wheel-barrowed it to the front lawn. I wasn't thrilled about that all on my grass, but eventually MMG did come pick it up later that afternoon.
Working on the back pathway connecting the two ends of the deck on either side of the raised pool wall. Crushed granite and flagstone. What is it with landscapers and crushed granite. It must be cheap, cheap, cheap.
The azaleas have been placed and now waiting to be planted.
The guys working on the swing stand arbor thingy - I don't know what you call that! It really isn't an arbor or pergola, but the style is similar.
I wish I could have captured this man's face, but he almost never lifted his head. He's the dad of one of the workers and begged Wes for a job. He had to be in his 80's if not older. OMG..... I was scared to death he was going to fall over dead! It was 103 outside and he was pushing wheel barrows full of crushed granite and later of flagstone. I decided I better get a picture of him while still alive. What determination to work and support himself. BTW, he came with the second crew added to the first crew. Wes was so determined they finish that night. I wanted to buy dinner - the guys were working so hard without a break. Wes said they were big boys and would survive. Glad I don't work for him. But no one acted unhappy.
A better view of the area behind the garage. I need to find a before picture.... I'll let you guys decide which one is the before and which is the after. It's not easy posting the before picture - it's SOOOOO BAD!
I have to run Nick to visit some friends, so I'll try to finish later.... only a few more of landscape and then a few of the pool again after plaster.
Thanks everyone!
Suz.
