It is easy once you get used to it. It took me a couple of try's to really catch on. Good news is you don't have to check your CYA a lot unless you add a lot of new water.
I went to the pool store close to my shop, just to see if they had lights.... a lady was in there almost in tears talking about filling hers in. Yeah, I sent out a P.A.! I told her to come see you guys here, not to trust pool stores haha... I don't think he liked it too much, but he will be ok.

That's how I would assume most people landed here. They got so tired and frustrated with pool stores that they were desperately trying to find something better.

OH, no, she was drinking the kool-aid.... until I snatched the cup from her hand!
I pulled a lady aside once when the pool store guys had to answer the phone and told her not to buy anything. Her pool was pretty small so it told her she would probably be better off draining but is she did not want to drain to come here. She had already used 3 bottles of algaecide, a bunch of powder shock and 2 bottles of metal free as her copper levels were through the roof. I think she decided to drain.
You know, there are templates of TFP business cards you can print out to hand out ... and in fact, Dave (duraleigh / tftestkits) had a bunch made which he was sending out if you asked, preferably if you order something so they can just throw them in the box.
If I had known, I would have had them put them in the tf100 box. Im sold on you bunch of pool nuts! A week ago, my junk was GREEN, and has since mostly cleared up. It WASN"T the pool store that made it happen! As soon as I recover from my pool store spendings, Im going to become a supporter here.

the first time i ran my tests i found it useful to just try to do them myself following the SIMPLE instructions that came with it...then i came here when i had some questions specifically on the CYA test. i think getting an overload of info right off the bat can be intimidating and make it seem harder than it is. when you do it the first time you realize its pretty simple, and you guys are all here to help if any help is needed.

Been strumming my fingers waiting for YOUR test kit. LOL....I'm telling Ya from a lil ole gal from Montg when I got my kit, I opened it up and the first thing I did was break down crying from intimidation...then felt like a moron after following the directions. It was pretty simple. Had I been a tad closer to you would have been happy to bring me test up there to test your water. TIP ... use the 10 mil sample to save on regents....congrats on a job well done thus far! You'll be a pro in no time.
