West Texas Pool Build

:whoot: WOW! :whoot: Just beautiful! Love that pool and the pergola is fabulous!!

What is the screening on top of the pergola?

Hi Sarge  You did a good job supervising and you deserve this rest :D

Tell Daddy you want a little extra treat

What no night shots? :p

I guess you want to see my re-purposed Christmas Tree lights? Can try and I will, just to show off my low tech-ness skills.

Very nice! The pergola really helps complete it.

Thank you Kindly Fossey!

Thanks BF! I knew you'd love it, and appreciate the compliments. The screen is just like the stuff in the Nursery to trim down the sunlight. These guys do it as standard equipment, and you can buy the same stuff on a roll at Lowes/Home Depot they Said. We wanted it for shade and keeping the bird mess off the Patio, but it really sets the whole thing off. It really makes it nicer.

Sarge Says Hi!!! but as for extra treats...Im afraid not. The real Boss (Momma) has put him "cut on way back" mode. He's been getting a little thicker, so its time to trim down she says. He may have to wait for Auntie BF to come and bring something extra. :p

Watch out, I may be next! :lol:

  I heard that on the 'thicker' comment!
Sorry, Sarge, I know how you feel

Pat, we just submitted an HOA request to build a large screen porch with a pergola on each end. We don't want to have to replace any more windows because of errant golf balls :hammer:

Wish we had your pool and pergola in our back yard! I love it! :flower: :snorkle:

What coping, tile and finish color did you use? I'm sure it's mentioned somewhere in this thread, but I can't seem to find it.

We used Flagstone deck all the way to pool's edge, so no "coping". I don't remember the name of the Tile, but it was in the NPT catalog. For the finish, we did a custom blend of two colors using Sunstone Select Quartz. We blended 11 sacks of Granite to 1 sack of Sapphire.

Patrick, your pool and pergola turned out great! What part of West Texas do you live in? I am from West Texas, but now transplanted to the Austin area. Although I love our green grass and trees, there is much to be said about those West Texas skies and the very friendly people!

I'm outside Midland Janny, where were you from out here?

Tvbrm, it's a mesh you can get at Home Depot or Lowes. It's stapled in on top of the rails, comes in rolls, and it's great. Adds lots of shade, and it's very durable. It held up in a golf ball hail storm early this summer, and it was sure it would be penetrated.

I lived in Odessa. We were there for 20 + years. My children still live there. One is a nurse at ODessa Regional and another a teacher at Permian. And a third son was a coach for Nimitz but he decided to try hot shotting for a while. I think he's about to go back to coaching. It's always nice to meet someone from the Odessa Midland area.
