NEW Gunite IG pool - West Texas

Beens, I think you're right. It looks cool in the pics. Come Halloween There may be dry ice in a tray in the spa...might just happen. I'll have to construct something out of buckets to keep it off the plaster and such.

Thank you Mia, Yes Ma'am. I jumped in on monday the water was up to 72 degrees. We made a video of the first cannonball....but I don't think anyone here wants to see that much pale white flesh.

We are thrilled with how the pool is turning out. I'm doing my best to use up tons of test chemicals. lol. This weekend I was testing every 1-2hrs....but that's b/c I was using zero CYA.....lets just say one day of adding chlorine constantly made me give up and add CYA. HTH branded stuff dissolves FAST.

My PH rise has been tolerable so far...nothing extreme thank god. Water is crystal clear, I hate the free vac. head.

I think I want a robot (I'm telling my wife it's BrushPups fault).

I'm holding onto my jubilation for now. My fence guy says he will be there this weekend. (It's supposed to rain....so if it does...he won't be there) The fence being down has my stress level through the roof. Once it's up, I will really be able to calm down...but then I have to put up all the "decor" and furniture. Then the last thing will be sod/paver work.(I want the pool guys gone before I start that).

I'm also working on my plans for the outdoor stereo. It will be simple/clean. I'd like that done ASAP. brushing the pool as much as I do, some tunes would make the time pass. oh and of course the uplighting for the fig tree and new plants.

Coping is all cut, they are supposed to get it slapped down and hopefully grouted today.

I forgot to take a pic (all the brushing is keeping me busy).

Here's hoping they aren't actually slapping anything down but placing it with care! :p Although, after some of the construction threads I've read here it sounds like they actually could just slap it down all crooked and then expect a check!

But seriously, it looks really nice so far!

Haha. We're in luck. He didn't slap em down. He was nervous to grout given the extremely high chance for rain (50%) which turned into no rain.

Thank you.

Well the one day it rains....the day my fence was supposed to go....I'm hoping for no rain tomorrow so he can work

PB did some grout work yest.

That light finish with those dark blue tiles is fabulous! I love the contrast so much! It's beautiful.

We got nearly 3" of rain last night. (More than we've had in a year, maybe two.

I'll get to see first hand how big of a deal this is or isn't. I expect my fc to have dropped. But doubt it should be substantial.

2.5-3" of rain had zero impact on my chemicals. Fwiw. Adjustments were on par with how they've been daily.

That great man! This or little change al all should be expected since we are only talking a couple of percent volume change.

I have the exact same drain covers in Grey. I think our PBs go to the same place for sure. Good job on the chems and brushing, I think you have it nailed already, but had no doubt you would.

Added a valve to the waterfalls- coping is grouted.

You can kinda see the main drain. :p

I think my PB thinks he's done. HA. he's wrong. I've found grout that is not up to my expectations. It will be redone. Oh and he has to finish the backside of the waterfall wall.

I bought 300sq ft of these.
You'll see what I'm planning there.

Thank you

Free vacuum PB gave me is almost worth it's price. Absolute garbage.

I ordered a dolphin robot after seeing brush pups in action.

We spent the entire weekend out back playing around in the pool.

Fence should be done Monday.

We found some umbrella bases!!

Here's latest. They had to order one more piece of coping. And we had them apply a finish to the back of the wall.

I guess the fence guy was a little off in his assertion that he could do the entire wall in a day. Of course maybe he meant an 8hr work day. As he was there 3 today. 1/2 of which was spent getting ready to lay brick. So this is probably 1-1.5hrs of brick work.

Yesterdays Progress on wall...12-4ish.

Great news. Fence is up. They have to come and do the equipment cover fence. But the important part is done.
It's awesome being able to see...nothing.
