NEW Gunite IG pool - West Texas

You know that sounds like a good idea. I may have to try that. I was sad when I heard you can't put frozen strawberries in the ice part. Lol. I guess I could leave the alcohol out for Brkfst. Or maybe not. Lol

Well you can put those frozen berries and/or frozen mangos in the pitcher with a little (or a lot) of the adult beverage of your choice and it's just about as close to heaven as you can get after a long day of landscaping! Turn those pool lights on and I'm a happy new pool owner!

When is the finish date again?

That's the question of the century. The last estimate I was given was by the end of may. But I've decided that I will believe it when it's full of water. Only crummy thing is once that's done I've got to get my fence guy out here again to finish the fence. It will be a tight run to get it done by the end of may at the current pace.

I can't wait! Grilling it up tonight. Going to try my first real margarita on my new favorite toy.

We bought a bunch of plants today. I'll attach an image in a cpl mins. We aren't planting yet to hopefully avoid the death of pool builders.

4 - pink hibiscus
4 - Pygmy date palm
2 - white bird of paradise

Check out what also came in the mail! X2

Great tiki hut roof! I'm definitely going to consider a margarita machine. That drink looks delicious.

Are you required to have "hand hold" tiles installed along your raised wall? If yes, what do they look like?

I'm very happy for you, but I'm a wee bit jealous too....LOL. They have a ton of work left on mine. Here's 4/23/14's progress. They thinned and leveled the spa back wall.

I hope that means they will start laying coping and tile soon.

Ol Bruce just couldn't take any more :p...kinda neat the location he picked to lay.

OMG, we have a basset too! And just as lazy. Bless them.

Ok, what is the exact color of the deck? I need exact names, people!!

We aren't required to have them.

LOL  It's 5 o'clock somewhere!

We broke the machine in properly yesterday. Let's just say that I'm going to be worthless today.

He's a pretty good dog. He's not as obedient as my basset/beagle mix, but he's much calmer. Lol

The decking turned out to be stegmeier branded "frontier desert deck". The color was a custom mix so it doesn't have a name.

Ok..........so sometimes I do get confused between the Vitamix and margarita machines in the morning. I'm old------------have pity.

Woody, I noticed that margaritaville sells a grill, sounds like your shopping list just got something added. :p

Well my pool builder had the equipment delivered to my house and unboxed it....

I wish I had more to report

Two pumps. Both are this series:

1hp for waterfalls
2hp for rest of pool

30" sand filter

Heater and air blower

Oh. And this thing is huge!

There's more stuff. But nothing exciting.
A package with a leaf net, brush, vacuum head, and a "test kit". Also a nice blue telescoping pole and some blue hose. Oh and the lights, electric stuff.

Guaranteed way to burn up a margarita machine or at least strip out the bottom widget that locks into the pitcher bottom---the whole ones at least.......(don't ask me how I know this). I use Bacardi frozen mixes like in an orange juice type can. Don't just chunk that in there frozen solid either!

You and I need to talk more.

I'm taking notes.

No I let them thaw out quite a bit before putting them in the pitcher! The instructions said to put the ice in the top about 30 minutes prior to using the machine, I usually set the frozen fruit out in a single layer on a plate or cookie sheet at the same time - that way they thaw pretty quickly. Still icy but easy to blend! Sorry to hijack you pool build with our important margarita discussions!! Lol

hahaha, no worries at all. The more info I have about that machine the better. Just say "ohhh, nice equipment" and you're off the hook :p

Electricians are there today.

At this point I'd say a steady intake of Alcohol is absolutely necessary when building a pool. :D. I'm hoping owning a pool is more enjoyable than building one. I'm also hoping I'll get to find that out soon. HAHA
