Questions regarding my new "Sense & Dispense" w/Acid feed

Hi all,

I installed a Sense & Dispense system with Acid Feed reservioir/pump this weekend. It seems like everything is working well. One thing I'm having a hard time getting my head around is the mV reading of the ORP sensor. I have a salt cell installed with my OmniPL Panel. I'm assuming its adjusting the chlorine generation automatically as needed. My questions are:

1. Is a 615mV reading acceptable?
2. My ORP set point is @ 740mV. If the setting is @ 740mV, why is my current reading 615mV?
3. I tested the FC level last night and it measured 2ppm. IMO, this seems low. What are your opinions?

correct I got it from my Water Guru. My Taylor reads around that reading from what I can tell. I have a hard time seeing into the vial, but I think the dot disappears around there. LOL It's heck getting old.

If the dot disappears between 50 and 40 we round up and call it 50.
 
Cya around that level can start to cause Probe interference. I'd lower to 30. What's your current PH reading when the ORP is at 615mv?

What is the age of your s340? Was it keeping up with production prior to the installation of the sense and dispense? I also assume you’re running your system 24/7….?
 
The Salt cell was installed this last March. The sense & dispense was installed last weekend. I run the system about 10 hours a day. The cell was keeping up but I had to turn it way down as it was over chlorinating even at 10 hours. Should I run it 24/7? Attached photos just taken. Now at 680mV

By running it 24/7 the sense and dispense will moderate the chlorine production based on your set point. Hold off dropping your CYA until you have a few days of stable running. Report back what it’s doing.

Can I run it at 25% the other 14 hours a day, or does it need to be at a higher rate of flow?

FWIW, it’s now running at 700mV. Hayward does a lackluster job explaining any of this in their operating manual IMO.
