Question about older dolphin model

Hi everyone. Recently moved into a new home with IG and previous homeowners left me an older dolphin model (DX4). I think I recall the homeowner saying something new/replacement was needed - but looking at the system, I don’t see anything standing out. Is there anything from these pictures that seems off like it wouldn’t function? I plan to drop it in the pool today as a test. Thanks.

Thanks. I several options that not expensive. Is this an easy DIY to put them on? Understand it won’t climb, but will not having them impact its ability to clean the non wall portion of the pool (e.g,. Will it get stuck trying to climb and just sit there?)
Most people can replace them. I don't know what will happen, other than it won't climb the walls.

B,

I had a Dolphin with "climbing rings"... After a couple of years they fell off.. I never notice any difference in the way the robot worked...

Just saying...

I have a Gunite pool, so maybe they are needed for vinyl pools, but I doubt it..

Give it a try and then decide,

My old DX3 wouldn't climb in my vinyl pool without them...had to replace those things every year ($40 OEM Covid pricing). Once it died, I went with a higher GPM robot without climbing wheels..now I don't replace them every year.

So, when I first got the Dolphin Premier, which had the climbing rings, I did not realize what they were..

They were all dried up, and really looked like some kind of packing material.

I came within about a micro-second of just ripping them off and throwing them away with the other packing material..

Not sure now why I stopped...

After the rings fell off, I used the robot for another couple of years, before moving on from the Dolphin robots.

Thanks all. Robot seems to work just fine. This about as far as it will try and climb, then fails, and keeps on cleaning the floor. I guess the question is it worth paying for the rings (cheap ones on Amazon - mixed reviews), the $40 ones from Maytronics, or just don’t bother with it at all.
