Aiper Surfer S2?

Can you start a separate thread on the S2. I would love to hear about its performance.

Most importantly I am interested if it dumps out some debris while going in reverse. Also how well does it get to the whole pool.

I’ve never seen mine do this. Is that a problem with the original Surfer? The basket design was changed on the S2…wonder if that’s why?

I had the original Surfer S1 and sent it back because it would last through the day just fine after a charge. It had plenty of charge at sun down. Then it would drain the battery keeping wifi going through the night. The battery was completely dead in the morning and by the time the sun was going down it wasn't charged enough to turn on and get to work. To be fair it was winter and the days were short (not that short as I'm in south Texas). I preferred the motion for my pool as it did a better job at getting the debris on the wall. It missed it, but turned sharply and as it moved away from the wall it "happened" to blow the debris off the wall to be picked up later. It also is a good looking skimmer - much better looking than the betta ( Super minor stuff counts too right?). I would love to know your experience with the run time without charging for your S2. Can you just leave it in 24/7 and have it do it's job with no charging?

I got the betta SE Plus and it does a great job at running all day and half the night. It blips around and still does some skimming in the early morning and gets to full work an hour or so after the sun comes up. Really the only complaint I have on the betta SE Plus is the backwards motion that lets out the very small debris that it had picked up. It's not a deal breaker as it will clean up after itself and my pool is nearly always free of debris. I have had the betta SE Plus for 7 months now and have charged it twice - once when new and once when I took it out for freezing temps.

I just got my Aiper Surfer 2 and so far I love it. To answer your question about debris dumping in reverse, mine has not. It has a flapper door keeps debris from coming out. I have a very simple pool, no steps or ledges. At first it didn't bother with the skimmer basket, but then it was sideways right in front of the skimmer. It came with a pool noodle which I then put in the skimmer and haven't had any problems since. It gets the corners and edges and so far it's been great. It's just so shocking to find the pool looking pristine without us having to skim it.
