I'm new to TFP and these forums. I've had my pool for four years (in ground, vinyl, 13,000 gallons). I've been taking samples to local stores for testing but I'm getting so frustrated! After two weeks of adding shock and chlorine, my pool still has no free chlorine, it's super cloudy and the pH is too low. I'm tired of running my samples to the store, being told to add 8 bags of shock and nothing is happens. I'm ordering a testing kit but haven't got it yet.

Welcome to TFP! We would be happy to help coach you through some water testing. You'll want to test your water yourself though, none of the free local testing stuff. Horrible testing and advice. I'll post some links below for you to consider. I love the TF-100/Pro-Series kits, but a Taylor K-2006C will work as well. We look for test results from either of those kits to help with reliable guidance. A great swim season starts with at-home reliable water testing.

Also be sure to update your signature with all of your pool and equipment info. It comes in handy for each response.
