Hi All! I have a HC3315 chlorinator and I’m trying to figure out if one of the protrusions at the bottom of the housing that keeps the filter screen in place is missing. I only have three protrusions so I believe the filter screen is not being held in place properly as it would be with four protrusions or Dots that extend up from the bottom of the housing. Can anyone tell me the correct number of protrusions that should exist at the bottom of the housing?

I have never seen that screen stay in place after a while as the plastic gets changed by the tablets. Since I actually recommend to customers to remove those, I don't give it much thought now. If you are going to use tablets it is best to use a floating feeder that will add a small amount of chlorine 24/7 and not damage the equipment.

Although I don't use the specific model in question, all the rainbow feeders I've seen have four nubs at the bottom for the screen. A picture of the piece you're looking at would be helpful. Much like @1poolman1, I have a direct discussion with my customers that have them about the benefits of elimination. If I must install one I prefer Hayward Cl200 online feeders.

Thank you all for your amazing replies! So mine only has three nubs versus the four nubs that I saw in a couple of the pictures. For some reason, one of them broke off. That is why I guess the screen is getting misplaced or upended when the tabs get put in. I’m wondering if that’s affecting the flow of chlorine into the pool as well. Whenever I open the top of the chlorinator it’s empty and has no water in it so there’s no flow going in there for some reason

The chlorinators themselves seem pretty pricey to replace and mine was working when I first put the pool in, but now it doesn’t seem to fill up with water anymore, and therefore dilute the chlorine into the pool.

Check valve at bottom of tube seems to be working fine.
Which check valve?

I see the top entry port is in use. This is typically done when there are erosion/feeding issues and lack of ability to maintain chlorine via the bottom port. I assume this has been a problem before?
