Brown Algae??? Dirt?

This is minor compaired to when I started. It soft, cant hardly feel it.
That looks like Live Oak pollen, do you have any Live oak or Pin Oaks close to the pool? I spend the early spring pulling that brownish yellow pollen out of my pool until the catkins finish dropping

Got home from work tonite at 1115P and forgot to make sure the pump was in manual. To my surprise there was very minimal brown dust in the pool.
The FC was 12, Brushed, vac and dosed to 20 FC again. If everything keeps going this way, I will try an OCLT tomorrow night

Boy, this is getting old. 930A test FC 17.5, same routine dose yada yada yada. Brown dust still evident with light uniform coverage on all flat surfaces. I hope the OCLT tonight and in the morning is good.
I am now up to 915 oz of bleach. Is this normal?

The more I read the article on Mustard Algae, I am beginning to believe its pollen. It's not yellow or yellowish green, it's not accumulating on the wall just all of the flat surfaces and it's not jsut on the sunny side of the pool. THis right here along with what I wrote in front this, Another way to distinguish between the two is that when you go up to shock level and brush the pool, mustard algae won’t come back as long as you stay at shock level. Pollen continues to accumulate, even at shock level.

Can you show some better pictures of the stuff?

There are two types of mustard algae.

One type is the yellow dust that sticks.

The other type is an olive green/yellow/brown color that looks like sand accumulating on the bottom.
