Waterway Oasis blowing fuses

Pentair, Jandy, and Hayward automation systems can set a cleaner pump relay so it only is turned on when a VS speed is sent to the filter pump. I am surprised that the Waterway system does not handle a cleaner pump.
Yeah, I emailed Waterway when the system was first installed and I noticed there was no such feature. They admitted that was an oversight that would be rectified in future versions of the product but that was seven years ago and the Oasis system does not appear to have been updated yet.

One leg of the 240V circuit is always powered in that diagram. It does not matter if the relay is turned on.

Those diagrams and switches come from overseas vendors who don’t care about safety.

You need to find a CSR that is a double pole relay, not the inexpensive single pole relay, that switches both legs. And the relay must be able to handle pump amperage.
I'll have to do some searching to see if something like that exists. I'm guessing that using two of those relays is not an option since it would still be possible for one switch to engage without the other.

Show me how your system is wired.

Waterway manual says your VS pump should be powered directly from the breaker. It should be connected to the LINE side of the filter pump relay, not the LOAD side.

I'll try to get a good pic once I'm home but my VS pump is manufactured by Waterway so I'm not sure that highlighted section applies. Also, I'm 99% sure the wiring of Relay 1 matches the screenshot you included in your post:

Breaker > Line 1
Load 1 > VS Pump
Breaker > Line 2
Load 2 > VS Pump

Thanks for the link, that's a newer version of the manual than the one I have saved. Looks like they corrected some errors and added some new information.

Can you tell me why you're wanting me to double check the wiring? I'm not sure why you're thinking something is wrong now that we've got the power to the board on a separate CB from the pumps.

I am checking if you really have a need for the CSR and if your controller is setup properly for your cleaner pump.

Never mind I will leave you alone. Carry on.

So I just heard back from Waterway and it seems I will indeed need to find an external solution to failsafe the booster pump from running when the filter pump is not running. Waterway has confirmed their Oasis controller does not have that functionality.
