water level at skimmer?

Besides not skimming efficiently, is there any downside to leaving the water level to basically the top of the skimmer?

Now that we are in January, leaves or debris is not an issue. I don't think I have had to empty the skimmer (when the water level was optimal) in at least a week or two. We just got a decent amount of rain so I am debating just leaving it. We run our robot frequently but with the lack of debris or leaves, I barely have to run it once a week.

No, as long as the water is not over flowing.

Got it. Thanks. The water level is almost fully covering the skimmer box so I won’t mess with it unless for some reason it gets up to the coping.

Just keep an eye on it after heavy rain to make sure it doesn’t get too high.

That’s the plan. Just wanted to make sure that the high water level only affects the skimming action and nothing with the pump (water is still turning over as intended)
