Cookes / Quick clean Water Valve Issue

Hello,

Pool owner gods, I have a question I hope someone could help me out with.

I have 2 brand new water valves

\-Water Valve 1 - Two port works perfect

\-Water Valve 2 - Six port, when first turned on will spin for a few seconds then slows or completely stops, if I tap the lid it will move a little then stop.

I have opened it up given everything a good clean, checked the gears and everything seems good. Reinstall and the same thing happens. I went into full problem solving mode and swapped the gears out of the working valve into the non working one and it still does not spin.

The only thing I can think of is the the body of the valve has an issue. The gears in the two port spin much easier than the six port however I can cycle the 6 port by hand no problems.

Any advise would be appreciated

Welcome to TFP.

Show us pictures of the valves you are discussing and your equipment pad.

What is the valves manufacturer and model number?

Sounds like a IFCS. @proavia may be helpful.

Welcome to TFP!

Post a few pics of your equipment pad and water valves.
Do you have a pool and attached spa or only a pool?
Tell us a bit more about your setup.

Thanks for the response, two photos attached

Photo 1 shows the two water valves

Photo 2 shows the valve set up (ignore the mess need to get everything running a for Xmas)
The valve on the left diverts all return water to the water valves and the valve on the right switches between the two water valves.

Pool is 14m X 4m including the spa

Thanks again

Water valve marked Spa is the 2 zone one and water valve marked pool is the 6 zone one?
I'm wondering what the underground plumbing looks like that leads to the input side of both valves.

Interestingly, the water valves, popups, and names of some products on the Cooke Industries website look exactly the same as the A&A Manufacturing (now Pentair) products.

The 2 zone valve is for the spa, this runs 6 heads

The 6 zone runs the pool which I think has 18 heads.

I'm in Australia so the Cookes brand is local but I am 95% sure it's A&A rebranded.

Is the gearset in each water valve exactly the same? I do know that my A&A 5 port is different form the 6 port.
If so, swap them and see if the 6 port starts functioning better.

The gears are the same however the part on the bottom of the gearset that opens the flap is different.

I have swapped the gearset and the problem still occurs. (Makes me think it's not the gears)

Hmm- weird.
Any chance there is restricted water flow into the 6 port water valve?
Is there a flow control device in the side feed water valves? My top feed has a diverter one that allows me to adjust water flow to the impeller or divert around it.

No restrictions that I know of just 2 90 degree bends. You can adjust the water flow into the valve by rotating the lid however not setting changes the spin.
