Hello. I live in San Diego CA, where we have a mild climate but might get a week or two of frost in the winter. I have an iC60 salt cell that is oversized for our 34000 gallon pool. The water temperature is currently 56 degrees, and I run my VS pump at 2200 RPM for two hours a day (more in warmer months) with the salt cell at 20% and have a chlorine level of 5-6 ppm when measure with a drop test.
My question is whether there is any value in removing the salt cell in winter to extend its life? For reference, my last SWG (a Pentair iC40) lasted about seven years which is in the ballpark of what I would expect.
Thanks!
