Status-No power to touch screen, Mastertemp heater or manual operation of Intelliflo 3.0 VSF pump. However, power to 2 Intelivalve valve actuators. No visible damage to motherboard (P/N 521936Z). Steps taken thus far with help of TFP-tested transformer via Orange/Orange White and Red/Red White; pulled all MB contacts and reapplied trying to determine single failure with no improvement. Day before CB tripped pool was on shcedule 8 to 5 however the next day didn't start on schedule.

Welcome to TFP.

Your description is confusing.

Does the 4A CB trip with nothing connected to the board?

What voltage is at the 4A CB?

What voltage is at the 5A CB?

The Valve CB should be 24V and power the actuators. Yet you say they have power.

What voltages did you have when you tested the transformer?

Hey not sure if you're still checking this thread or if you've figured this out yet but your system transformer is connected backwards...

the connector is flipped the wrong way - my guess is the orienting tab has broken off, which makes it really easy to connect it wrong. The orange pair (18vac/volts ac) should be on the bottom where you've got the red pair... there's a diagram in the top right of the board, to the left of the heater fireman switch connector.

I'm not sure correcting it now is going to fix your issue because you may have done some damage to the board. There's a small 4-pin chip in the top right, just above the eheater relay connector... it's a bridge rectifier that converts 18vac to 24 volts dc to power your wireless adapter... is that chip damaged? I can't really tell from the photo, but it looks like it's cracked.

Tom,

I doubt the OP will be back, but catching the backward connector will help others who run into this issue..

Just proves that if it can be done wrong, it will be...

I personally appreciate your post, as I am getting the IntelliCenter upgrade kit for Christmas.. The way the connector is installed in the pic "looks" like how it should be.. Good to know it is backwards now, and not after I installed it. I too doubt the card survived..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Oh, this is going to be fun for all of us.

Pro Tip: Pentair has a lot of PDF manuals for the IntelliCenter on their website. You are not going to read through all of them. Go to Googles' NotebookLM (it is free) at

https: //notebooklm.google.com

Download all the PDFs and load them into NotebookLM.

Then, you can ask any questions, and it will either give you the answer or point you to the PDF and section on what to read.

Welcome to the world of AI assistants.

Allen,

My plan was just to ask you...

I really don't 'need' the IntelliCenter, but I do feel behind the curve when it comes to answering IntelliCenter questions.

Thanks,

Jim R

I am sure you also enjoy riding your horse to the market in Texas.

Allen,

I know this will come as a shock, but most people in Texas don't own a horse.. They own pick-me-up-trucks with Flags...

That said, I'm pretty sure that I am the only person in Texas that does not own a pickup..

When I was younger, I was pretty good about keeping up with technology.. I had an Osborn 1 Computer, one of the first 'real' computers.. It had two 90K floppy drives and I was in pig heaven.. :)

But, as time and technology move on, I have found that I like simple better.

Thanks,

Jim R.

I got everything I know about Texas from Yellowstone.

My first PC was an Apple II with two floppy drives. Then I upgraded to the original IBM PC. I skipped the PC Jr.

Jim, congrats on the Intellicenter upgrade... maybe keep that Easytouch close by for when you want to go back to screenlogic!!:laughblue:

did anybody else start off with a TI-99/4A???

In the spirit of Jim's earlier comment... for everybody else, this shows the hookup diagram on the board, and how the connector should attach.

The white "tab" that I indicate with a yellow brace should prevent a reverse hookup - although it unfortunately can break off... so if your tab is missing, pay extra attention to the orientation of the connector. (Thanks again to Allen for the dead board photo that I keep drawing on!)

My first coding was done on octel paper tape fed into a Monrobot. That was a computer from Monroe Calculating Machine Division of Litton Industries with paper tape input to a rotating drum memory and output to a printer console.
