Hello all!

My name is FJ and I am new to this forum community. I am a new owner to a in-ground pool that was built in the 90’s as part of the home I just purchased.

I’m savvy in plumbing, but I’m having a hard time figuring out what this particular pipe is for and what it’s called, so I hope someone here might be able to help! It’s the pinched sized looking pipe with a small thin black hose coming out of it. It’s broken and I need to replace it to stop my leak, but I can’t figure out how or where to find it. I looked up the company branded on the pipe but they are permanently closed. Any help would
Be greatly appreciated!

It is a venturi injector.

What is the black hose connected to? A chlorine tank or acid tank?

The pinched pipe creates a venturi change in water pressure, pulling the chemical from the black hose into the water flow.

If you are not injecting a chemical with the black hose, then replace the pinched pipe with a piece of Schedule 40 PVC pipe.

Thank you!

The black hose is not connected to anything at the other end. It’s just sitting loose. If i completely disregard it I should just go straight to PVC?
