What did you do to your pool today?

Welp. Today i missed a golden pool opportunity. I was so in awe with the northern lights which I don't recall ever seeing before, that I missed my chance for a northern light TFP sparkle gif. :(

If it happens again I'll be sure to look down and not up. The folks in the TFP clear thread deserve better from me.

Who'd you send in ? The fleet ? Squadron? Floatilla ? Division ? Or just a lone destroyer ?

How about a squadron of drones with… wait for it… “lasers”

That is awesome.

We’ve always wanted to see the northern lights but we’ve never been north enough at the right time. And then they tell me it happens at 4 in the morning so that’s just not happening. But that looks as if it was at sunset.

We might do a road trip one day and try to see the southern lights.

I am discovering that my flotilla requires more support craft. Rear Admiral Kato is being summoned to a congressional sub committee to explain the excess leaves.

I am formulating a revised budget request and emergency appropriations to round out the fleet. We should be able to fight two hurricanes at once doctrine is gaining acceptance.

It'd take a couple days navigate through Panama, but do not hesitate to call in the Pacific fleet.

Its better to have them ready and not need them than to call in the support too late.

It was an hour after sundown which was behind me the other direction.

The aurora australis was on the news last night, seen as far north as Texas AU which is right on the NSW and QLD border on the 29th parallel south. The equivalent in the north, the 29th parallel north cuts through the bottom of Florida and Texas, US (the real Texas). I never knew the aurora australis and borealis occurred at the same time but it’s logical if you think about it. Well not the exact time but the events are linked to the same solar storm.

Tested my FC and I’m back down to 9.5ppm so I’ve turned my cell back on. We were up to 88oF yesterday.

I picked up a 1” 45deg elbow and a barrel union from the local hardware yesterday to replumb the purge line on my cyclone. I guess we’ve had the solar for two summers now and the purge line has never been completed until about three weeks ago. But I’m not happy with it hence the new parts to redo it sometime soon. Soon being an undefined measure of time.

Turns out the army has better lobbyists. They just ordered a new top of the line Dreame X40 plus. Apparently the indoor floors take precedence or some foolishness like that. They out maneuvered us.

And you all thought I was joking about the drones…

You’re going to need a robot for the grass and one for the windows. The window cleaning robots aren’t capable of switching windows on there own which is where the drones come in…

Closed down after another successful (and easy) pool season thanks to TFP! I started around 9:30 and wrapped up just in time for the 1 PM NFL games to start.

My ah-ha moment/pro tip that I discovered this year was using the Shop-Vac to draw all of the air from the inflatables. Insert a small screwdriver into the valve that the Shop-Vac hose can just fit over top and let it rip. No more awkwardly hugging the inflatable pool unicorn to try and squeeze the air out.

Get this Coleman pump It has small and large nozzles depending on the float valve, and you pop them on the input side to suck the floats instead of filling them.

I never had the patience for filling them with the compressor and this thing is like a mini cyclone that gets it done pretty quick.
