Troubleshooting Pentair ScreenLogic Issues

Hello TFP Guru's,

I started having issues controlling my pool/spa yesterday from the app (mobile & computer). I am able to connect, via the app, to the indoor SL2 protocol adapter but no commands make it to the control panel outside (EasyTouch 4 Pool & Spa). I have tried powering everything down (outside and inside) and even resetting the PA but no success.

The internal antenna just has a blinking PWR (green) LED, which according to the docs means it is trying to make a connection. I never see the TX or RX LEDs light up.

I have removed the egg-shaped cover on the outdoor antenna and the PWR LED only occasionally lights up, the RX LED never lights up and the TX LED blinks "randomly".

I am able to control all aspects of the pool/spa directly from the EasyTouch panel. FYI I have a Pentair Intelliflo VSF pump and the display on the pump reads "DISPLAY Not Active!" which is normal since it is connected to the ET4.

This setup has been working fine for ~4 years until yesterday. At this point I am not to exactly sure where the problem is. I am on the verge of calling out a technician but wanted to see if the TSF community could provide any other recommendations.

TIA

Try hard-wiring the screenlogic protocol adapter to your outdoor board if you can - even temporarily. Doing so will allow you to rule out the wireless transceivers as being the problem.

yes exactly. the red/yellow/green/black that go from the PA to the indoor transceiver will connect to the comm port on the outdoor board. you should be able to get a pdf copy of the manual if you're still unsure how to wire it up.

Wanted to give an update. It looks like one of the wires on the external antenna pulled out of the wiring block. Wired it back up and everything is once again working as expected. I probably would not have seen this unless I was planning to hard wire the PA to the pool controller. Thanks again for your help!
