There is a piece, though, that I cannot find for my sp2607x10 that goes along with the slinger. When I took off the motor mounting plate, the slinger was on the shaft of the motor, but below that, at the round base around the shaft, there appears to be a metal washer that fits into the round setting around teh motor shaft, and under that a small slinger. In my case, the metal washed was rusted and broken, but the smaller slinger was at the base. Any idea where I can find these?

Please post pictures. I literally just finished changing my seals/gaskets/slinger on my SP26 and I didn't see anything other than the slinger. I also just checked my owners manual and the Net of the SP26 parts diagram and it doesn't show anything other than the slinger.
It's this metal piece, that goes up against the base of the motor and sits inside that circular slot.

Can you post a picture of your actual motor shaft please. I don't think I saw that on mine. What motor do you have - Century (AO Smith) - model # ? Might have to call Hayward or Century to check on that. And of course, please keep us informed - thanks.
Motor is a Century Model C48K2N143B1. You can see the smaller rubber slinger that's on booto in the second pic (I pulled it up a bit so you can see it) and in the last photo, I placed a bit of the broken washer atop that smaller slinger so you can see where it set.

Hmm... again, I don't recall seeing that on mine, but I wasn't really looking so that doesn't mean it is not there. I am going to call Century in the morning and ask about my K48 (since upgraded by Century I believe probably to comply with recent pool pump motor energy efficiency law). I suggest you call them and ask about yours as well. I will let you know what they say about mine.

For the Century K48M2N111 motor, typically when replacing the seals, gaskets, and slinger, you would replace the main slinger that’s designed to fit the motor. The replacement process usually doesn’t require an additional smaller slinger or a small metal washer.

My friend's motor does need the extra slinger and metal washer (see picture below) - do you have a part # for the small slinger and metal washer ? His motor is a Century Model C48K2N143B1

Sounds like you need to buy a new motor (or risk trying to "match" what you have - probably not a good idea.

That part is an additional seal to help keep water out of the front bearing, they come on the motor only. With that much corrosion, I'd be surprised if the bearings are not screaming when the motor is on, or its soon to happen.
