getting my ducks in a row. pool is delviered today.

Vermiculite is a bit expensive here but perlite is cheaper and easier to get. is that an acceptable option?

Whats a good ratio? 4cuft of vermiculite to 98lbs of portland cement seems common? if perlite is acceptable would that ratio hold true?

Also, i found a good deal on "fine" vermiculite. i assume thats not going to be ideal though and it needs to be either medium or coarse

Vermiculite is the preferred choice...not always available. Vermiculite should be coarse.

Some good resources on perlite for pools, and mixing ratios...

i can get vermiculite i guess. it's $400 more expensive than perlite. just spend the difference huh? $1400 vs $1800
