Pre pool opening (white water mold)

I am picking up a container today, will run another treatment today.

Having to slam once a month is getting OLD
I agree!
I want to come to your house & swab your pipes out for you lol 😂
I just can’t see how anything is still lurking by now.

I mean I’m tenacious but cmon man let me enjoy this pool !!!

I just got home to check Chems etc.

My pump looks different than usual. Like the water is low in the pump bowl . That’s the best I can explain it . Usually it like to the top full and you can barely tell the water is moving. When I approached it just now the pump was on low (1850 rpm) the water looked low. I increased to high (3000 rpm) and it still seems low

I tried to take a pic IMG_6099.jpeg
Usually I can’t see this “bubble”
Like it’s 2 cups of water low or something

Have you been in there recently ? It'd be common to not have gotten a good seal causing a small leak ?

Low RPM or high ?

I did get in there maybe 3 or 4 days ago. No signs whatsoever of water dripping or leaking . It was more noticeable at low rpm, still some at high rpm .

I just turned the fou-tains on for their daily run . Dropped in the ahhsome and checked the pump again the big blob of “bubble” is gone and I see lots of teeny tiny bubbles

The low rpm the water was barely moving and the water level looked low- but to be honest I don’t normally see the pump when it’s running that speed (that’s the 12 am-4 am cycle) but somehow the timer is skewed . It still runs the cycles for the correct amount of time , just at the wrong time of day

Everything before the impeller is suction and will suck air versus spray/drip when the pump runs.

Pop the lid, relube the gasket and get that bad boy back on there good and snug.

Many have a low rpm bubble that clears at full rpms. It's very possible it was always there and you never saw it with the schedules now wonky.

I added another dose of ahhsome abt 2:30, definitely kicked up some more goo around the skimmer wall . There was no trace of it this morning at 6:30 am nor when I added it at 2:30 pm. It’s now 7:40 pm and a swipe with a paper towel showed more black/gray goo. Also from 6:30 am-2:30 pm I lost 3 ppm fc.
Added ahhsome at 2:30 pm, tested at 7:30 pm and lost another 3 ppm

The Ahhsome & subsequently dislodged stuff is eating your fc.
Don’t freak out about it too much- just make sure you keep the fc up enough that you won’t fall near minimum. Doesn’t have to be at a slam pace necessarily.
Try to wipe the gunk from the waterline & skimmer as often as you can with a microfiber & get it out of the pool.
I wouldn’t add anymore Ahhsome this round - just do it once a month or whatever you decided.
Eventually it will be less & less gunk dislodged. It will consume some fc each time you do it.

Thanks,

as I’ve mentioned holding slam level is making me a little concerned about the gel coat . As this is the third slam this year and they have all lasted 10+ days. Clearly yall have a grasp on my panicky personality by now 😊

Is this concerning ?

There are 2 hairline cracks in the skimmer . Best pics I can get rn with the sun . IMG_6123.jpegIMG_6120.jpegIMG_6121.jpeg
I say cracks… if I run my nail over 2 of them it makes a click noise , the third mark is more like a scuff or something not raised or click noise . If I push with a little pressure nothing moves (I think that’s a good thing?)

Still losing overnight
Should I slam at a higher level? I’m nearing 2 weeks of slam without much progress. I’ve been using 16 as target

Oh btw bob (my pool brush) just gave his 2 weeks notice . Overworked and underpaid I guess 🤣

16 is great for now. It's far above min and you don't have a swamp. If the CYA dipped a little, you're over SLAM target for 30.

I am very pleased with my new protuff brush. It has a lifetime warranty no questions asked but if it goes a good distance, I wouldn't be a jerk on year 15, I'd just happily buy a new one. It's sure nice for any unreasonable failures though.

I tested their claims when I needed an adapter piece for the new pole which didn't fit my old vac head. (The pole is so-so). They claimed it would be the easiest claim I ever made and they delivered as promised. They wanted a pic of the pole to prove I owned on and sent me the piece the next day. It could have been a rando internet pic for all they knew.
