After some advice from some of you in testing and balancing when I asked about how to get rid of flakes of scale coming from my returns, I got my TA that was around 120 down to about 75. Before that, I had flakes coming out when the salt cell was in use. Turned it off during the lowering and left it off for about a week and used chlorine because we were getting ready for a pool party and I just didn't want the flakes to clean up. Turned the cell back on this past weekend and NO FLAKES! YAY! Or so I thought...
Now I'm getting what looks like used, removed, rolled up Teflon tape coming out of the returns. Nothing was coming out during the week+ that the salt cell was off. I'm perplexed as to what this substance actually is. I haven't used any tape on anything since the gizzmo in the winter. It looks like removed tape that someone rolled up. It's stretchy when you pull it. But I have NO idea where it would be coming from if it were that. Also, nothing came out until the salt cell was turned back on.
Any ideas?? Some sort of gooey, stretchy scale? Best seen in a video.
