Haven’t checked my CYA lately because I was doing a SLAM. Haven’t done the OCLT yet but i’m pretty sure the SLAM is done. I would have to check again. I just added stabilizer a week or so ago via the sock method but as i said, i have a bad leak and still trying to find it.What is your CYA and what was and is your FC?
I actually haven’t turned off my bucket filter for weeks since I’ve had to keep adding water. I did have an RV hose filter on my hose but i’m wondering if maybe it needs replaced and that’s why the iron is back in. I did testing this morning and it all looks ok for the most part. Lost 2ppm of chlorine overnight but I didn’t get up until 10am so not the most reliable lol. How do you put poly fill in the skimmer tho? Doesn’t it come out and go throughout the pool?I suspect that for whatever reason the iron was woken from its slumber. Get the polyfill going ASAP while it's precipitated out. Polyfill in the skimmer and if possible run the pool water through another bucket full of polyfill for additional filtering. The more you get now the better.
You could try a skimmer sock.do you put poly fill in the skimmer tho? D
Like remove it anytime we aren’t swimming? we’ve still been using the pool. You should remove that ladder. They are algae traps and it would be good to inspect and clean it inside & out.
Could you share you most recent FC and CY tests?
Your slam is not done as your pool is not clear, that is one of the criteria.Haven’t done the OCLT yet but i’m pretty sure the SLAM is done
it was clear and then i added water and this happened. the slam was done.![]()
Ok so I upped my chlorine to Slam level last night around 9pm (12ppm). I checked it again around 11 and FC was 9.5. This morning FC is at 9. Does that mean I passed?Fine, do the OCLT. Link-->Overnight Chlorine Loss Test
It appears you only lost 0.5 ppm of FC from 11:00 pm to this morning, so technically yes, you passed. But I tend to agree with @PoolStored that the water still looks a bit off and it's not just iron. Might not hurt to maintain the SLAM level just one more day if you can and do another OCLT. Normally I don't say that, but given the back & forth your water has done and the way it looks, I think it needs the additional chlorine help.I checked it again around 11 and FC was 9.5. No I haven’t yet. Planning to do that today thoDid you get a chance to inspect that ladder yet? Curious if you found any junk in there. Most people do.
Hello! Water looks a lot better today. Should I keep slamming or stop? I’m so nervous it’s going to keep coming back. I cleaned the ladder really well yesterday, poured chlorine into the enclosed areas, scrubbed etc. However I was spraying the hose up into the holes of the ladder and stuff kept pouring out but turns out it’s sand. Is it supposed to be there??It appears you only lost 0.5 ppm of FC from 11:00 pm to this morning, so technically yes, you passed.
