Cannot get FC up, pool water foaming

I also know that with a cartridge filter I need to be cleaning it every 2-3 hours as well correct?
Clean them, note clean pressure. When it rises 25%, clean again. You will be cleaning often. The more you are on top of it the faster SLAM will go.

Are you familiar with the go-kart track in Jacksonville? My daughter raced there with WKA. She was the only female to win the Great Lakes Sprint series after Danica Patrick.

My apologies for the late reply, it's been a heck of a day.

I am not familiar with it, but that is awesome, that is a huge accomplishment! Does she still race? Did you get to spend much time in Jacksonville? We have been here about 10 years and really like it.

As for the pool, I had to change the pressure gauge it was very old I'm sure and it stopped reading pressure changes. We used the manual vacuum to get up what we could, which didn't seem like much, but of course we can't see the bottom. Picked up some more chlorine. We took a picture today, which is attached, it did seem a little lighter shade of green today. I had the following levels about 15 minutes ago:

.5 FC
2.5 CC

Added 2 gallons of the bleach, per pool math. That is where I am at so far.
Thank you again!

Tough love conversation. You need to get on top of this pool to clear it. You need to be test and replacing FC at least every 2-3 three hours every day to clear it. The weekend is coming up. I know, life happens, but use the weekend to get ahead.

Print these instructions out. Read them three times and keep them with you. Link-->SLAM Process

I hear you, I do. I appreciate the help and tough love. The weekend is definitely my plan to get on top, and ahead. I will keep you posted.

At 16, she had the choice, race F1600 or get a car. She chose car. We were in/out on race weekends. I now have 4 grandchildren, no racing, but lots of pool time with the kids!

That's probably what I would have chose too, tough choice for a 16 year old I'm sure! Glad you all are able to enjoy it! Hope to get there sooner rather than later.

I have what I am sure is a dumb question and that I am pretty sure I know what the answer is, but am going to ask regardless...only way to gain knowledge right?

I have some leftover chlorine "pucks", picture attached, they are clorox and I know are "stabilized" as evidenced by the claim the protect from sunlight. Should I run any of those in the skimmer basket while I am going through this process as sort of a "helping hand" (although I suspect they may do more harm than good due to the stabilizer raising the CYA I'm sure)? These were bought before I found TFP and when my salt generator wasn't working, along with using the clorox shock 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

Also I know the SLAM process says to turn off my SWG during the process, but why wouldn't I leave it on to help?

Thank you, and I'm ready to get blasted for the puck question.

I would avoid. We don't know, but for Clorox products, BLUE usually means Copper. I would NOT use them. From the SDS:

Thank you, I thought that seemed like a no-no. I'm currently engaged in working on the pool this weekend, also battling the bouts of rain and thunderstorms too 😂. Will post updated test results and pics.

@PoolStored attached are some promised pictures (if you open them I have written the date and time they were taken). We have been putting in work with testing, cleaning the filter, adding bleach, and brushing every 2 hours as instructed. I definitely see what you mean with the need for pictures! The progress has been amazing to see, the water is no longer green but a hazy blueish color; although we still cannot see the bottom. It almost seems like it has plateaued with this hazy blueish color even after about a day like that. Any advice is greatly welcomed, thank you for everything so far!

Highest amount of FC we got was on JUN 30 with a count of 12 FC and 9 CC.

Latest test results at 6:15 PM today: 5.5 FC and 4 CC.

Imma make a guess in advance. FL pool builders are notorious for putting in small filters. Fill out your signature with all the makes and models of your equipment (see link below).

What type of filter do you have and how often are you cleaning/backwashing?

Ok, I filled out my signature, hope that worked. I have a cartridge it is a Wowreed (Amazon brand replacement for a Clean and Clear CC 200) 200 sqft cartridge filter. I am cleaning it every 2 hours with water test and pool brushing.

I can't find that filter. I can find Wowreed cartridges, just not filters.

A week into slam from a green pool isn't all that long...and we were on twice a day until a few days ago. You'll get this...

How are you cleaning them and how old are they?

I may be a bit confused here or mis-speaking, I have this (which is a cartridge and what I also thought of as my "filter")

Wowreed Pool Filter Compatible with PAP200, Clean & Clear CC200, CC200, C-9419, FC-0688,59054400, 1 Pack Amazon.com

The housing it goes into is a Pentair Clean and Clear CC200 (picture attached).

Ok, thank you, I will keep trusting the process.

It is a single cartridge, only about a couple of months old, we are removing it and spraying down (from top to bottom) all of the pleats with a hose until clean water is all that runs out; the water rinsed from it does usually look dirty.

Thank you again.

Sounds like you are using Pool Essentials 10% chlorinating liquid from Walmart.

With a CYA of 50, the SLAM Process FC level is 20.
While you have been dosing to get up to 20, have you ever tested 15 minutes after dosing to see how close you are getting? Test 15 minutes after adding chlorine just one time to see if you are attaining SLAM level FC. If you aren't getting to SLAM level FC the SLAM is going to take a long time.

Are you confident in your pool volume of 10,000 gallons? If the volume is larger, you aren't going to reach the desired FC level based on dosing for 10,000 gallons.

Recommend you log and save your test results in PoolMath, not just your chemical additions.
Log only the tests you do at any particular time.

If you can, replace your 0-160 psi pressure gauge with a liquid filled one that reads 0-30 psi. This will make it much easier to know your clean pressure and when to clean the cartridges when the pressure rises 20%-25%. Maximum pressure rating for your filter is 50 psi and you should never see over 30 psi.
