Sick of Algae!

My water is crystal clear, but I still have a few little spots of brown powder on the bottom. My plan today is to vacuum those few spots to filter, and then do an OCLT. If tomorrow morning I don’t lose more the 1 ppm FC and no powder spots in the bottom, I think I’ve completed SLAM. If so, the next step is getting PH , FC, CC and alkalinity right? Would you ever need to add CYA after SLAM?

I would slam one more day, even if you pass all three criteria.
Yes, next steps are correct.
Do nothing to correct TA unless is is lower than 50.
If your pH starts with a 7, don't do anything.
Nothing to do with CC, as it will be 0 or .5 from OCLT.
Keep your FC in range for your CYA. When you test FC, you should be in range. If you are not, you need to dose above range, so you are always in range for your CYA. Link-->FC/CYA Levels

I think I might be complete with my SLAM. I did an OCLT and the decrease was 1.0 ppm. I checked the CC and I believe I'm .05. The pool is clear and I don't see any algae dead or alive. What is the next step? Allow my FC to drop throughout the day until it gets to 7.0?

Maintain FC for your CYA Link-->FC/CYA Levels

You always want to be in range, WHEN YOU TEST. If you need to dose higher than range, so you are in range when you test, then dose higher.

Not sure I understand your point.
Not really a point. The attached screenshot shows what it seems he would need to do with his question come later today and trying to stop his slam and doing the OCLT?? Since his loss overnight is right at 1 also. I understand the FC and CYA levels and I think @jdfreeman does now.

I just tested my FC and it was 19.5. My CYA is about 34. Rounding down to 30, the chart says target FC should be 4-6. Should I do anything with pH? I checked it last night and it was 8.0. I haven't checked it today though.

Ok, gotcha! I'll just let the sun do it's thing to reduce FC. I think I used 25 gallons of 10% LC since last Thursday through this process. Pool is looking better than it has since it was installed 4 years ago. I will NEVER AGAIN use shock granules or chlorine tablets with CYA in it.

Soooooo. You want your FC to be in range, WHEN YOU TEST. If you have to dose higher than range, so that it is in range when you test, then dose higher.

If I'm understanding you correctly, the range of FC should be 5-7. If I test and the FC is 3 (for example), I need to add FC so that it increases to the 5-7 range. However, I might add more than the required LC, so that when I test after the sun has depleted the FC, it will be in the 5-7 range. Is that what you are saying?

Just checked my FC and it was 9.5. I checked CC just for grins and it was .5. Water is clear. I'll check FC again tomorrow mid morning and see what it looks like. At what point do I check pH? When FC is < 10? I guess now the goal is to maintain a level of FC of 5-7 right? Do I need to check pH, TA, CYA or CH? I know the FC/CYA relationship is paramount, but not sure about the other things. Thanks!

Your CYA 4 days ago was 60ish..so your 34 is probably really 40 which I think was covered above earlier and round up. I check my CYA every few days but really once a week i feel has been fine.
Same with PH and TA. For your CH check this out. Since your a vinyl liner and above ground pool it's a rarity for most to worry about.
