Chlorine tabs in the skimmer basket

I have an inground vinyl pool with 2 skimmers, the pool is running off of the skimmers because the main drain is leaking
I also have a heater and pool pipe is going thru it, but I don't use the heater (even if I try it says "Low Pressure " error and stops after couple mins)
Do you recommend using HTH chlorine tabs (per label they are "skimmer free") in the skimmer basket?

No. The acid in the Trichlor tablets will damage your equipment over time.

Put Trichlor in a floater in the pool.

I already did that too, but is that enough?

Enough for what?

Watch your CYA level when using Trichlor and don't let it get above 70-80 by the end of the season.

If you need more use two floaters.

Trichlor adds chlorine, acid, and CYA. Overuse of Trichlor to get more chlorine can lead to a too low pH and over stabilization with high CYA levels.

TFP Methods recommend the use of liquid chlorine or a SWG over Trichlor.
