No. I didn't even know there was such a setting. But you need to make sure the levels are always in the ideal range by testing on a regular basis.

Most people that install SWCGs don't really understand how they work, or how to use them to maintain your pool. They just install things.

You should never have to "shock" your saltwater pool, as long as you keep your FC at, or near, your target range for your CYA..

It's called Superchlorinate on the Hayward. Basically runs the cell at 100%. Better to just add chlorine if tests show a need to quickly increase FC.
