Hoping you all will see this and possibly be able to offer some advice or help. I've read through the posts and it sounds like I'm having some of the same issues. My JXI is about a year and a half old. Was install in July 2022, but because of gas line issues and other issues the unit wasn't used till August 2023. Fired up perfect and worked great till about 3 weeks ago. The issues is to get the unit to actually come on I'm having to shut down everything and pull the breaker. After restarting everything and turning on the heater it appears to be going through the complete process. Blower comes on, and flame ignites and I can see it get orange in the window. Few seconds later it starts to exhaust out hot air and such from the exhaust. The flame starts to die down and then it goes out and then the blower shuts down a minute or so later and that is it. Whole issues takes about 2 minutes. At that point the system will no longer come back on so I have to shut everything down again and pull the breaker. I have checked all the connections they seem to be tight and working. Any suggestions.

One thing, the water pressure switch. The circuit looks open at the beginning should it close after and stay closed? All my filters and skimmers are all clear.

Any help or suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Check the gas pressures.

What size JXI heater do you have?

What is the CFM rating of the house gas meter?

Post pics of the equipment pad and heater.

Post pics of your gas meter and meter data plates.

What specifically were the gas line issues and other issues that prevented the heater use until August 2023? Did the heater replace an existing heater? Who was the heater installed by and have they been addressing the issues that prevented the use of the heater? Why has it taken them more than a year to get the heater working properly to start with? Many questions with not enough data/answers.

Not sure how to check the gas pressure. I know that it had worked fine for over a month. I was warming it up to 90 degrees every weekend for my daughter to teach swimming lessons.

It is a JXI400N

I don't know what the CFN rating is for the house. I do know that I have the max deliverable amount for a residential home, because I had to request a larger system because of the pool heater, generac generator, and all the other gas drops I have. The pool heater has a regulator on it installed by my plumber.

Back story: 1950s concrete pool, we purchased the property and fully renovated/gutted the house. Pool had a few structural cracks, pool company supposedly fixed those. New deck, all new plumbing, and all new equipment. Used the pool from July 2022 till October 2022. The plumber could not get out to hook up the heater and finish up some other projects till late September. That's why the heater sat for a bit. The pools cracks came back and the pool was losing water so I drained it and in the spring I started redoing all the work on the pool. This time around it was repaired with concrete staples and all the resurfacing. It was all done by me. That took a lot longer than I ever thought that it would. Filled the pool up in August, everything was working great. Fired up the heater and tested it and it worked well too. Heater was used through the entire month of September, specifically on weekends to heat the pool up to 90 degrees for my daughter to teach swimming lessons. Heater worked up until middle of October when I started to have the above described issues.

Gas pressures are measured by a manometer.

My guess is with the cooler weather other gas appliances are now running in your house that were not running in the summer.

You need to get your gas guy to check the static and dynamic, when the heater is running, gas pressures while other appliances are running. The acceptable gas pressures are in the JXI manual.

Your gas meter looks large enough but show us the data plate highlighted below...

We are having a discussion about concrete staples here...

Appreciate if you take a look and share your experience with concrete staples.
