Hello,

New Plaster pool owner.
Just had the pool re-plastered on 9/20 and filled on 9/21.

Added chlorine on 9/24 BUT I added too much.
(2 gallons of bleach). Both TC/FC 7.9 about 2 hours after adding.

PH 7.8 (expected). Treating with MA.

Should I be concerned with the high chlorine?
Concerned about the new plaster curing properly.

Thanks.

You will lose several ppm each day especially with low cya so it will go down.
You want to maintain fc in target range for your cya FC/CYA Levels so nothing funky grows & you end up having to slam.
Use the sock method for adding cya so it is immediately in the water. Count whatever you added as being there.

Just started adding. Last test it was 14.
We’d advise you to get one of the two Taylor test kits mentioned and not rely on the pool store for testing, even though your warranty may say you need them to test it. They just tend to be really bad at testing accurately.

Looks like OP has colorQ Pro which is marginally acceptable for what we need.

OP, would you post test results like this, please

FC - X.X
CC - X.X
pH - X.X
TA - XXX
CH - XX
CYA - XXX

That gives us a better understanding of your water. Can you post a pic? How does your water look?
