Hey Everyone. I'm a new pool owner SWG 16k gallons NPT Polishscapes Silver Reef plaster with freshly stamped and sealed concrete. I'm getting these white deposits on my new concrete sealer that wont remove. At first I thought it was the salt but others have told me that its probably calcium since it wont come off.

My pool is balanced and my CH is 360 which is right at the starting point for recommended levels on TFP for SWG pools. In another group someone said that my calcium is too high for salt pool and i should bring it down to 250 to stop this from happening but that is well below the recommended range on that i saw in the pool school regarding SWG. Also, I dont have calcium getting stuck on my tiles or stone around hot tub and its only on the concrete sealer.

Any other input regarding CH ? Also what is the best product to remove the calcium from the concrete sealer.

My numbers are below:
PH 7.6
Alk 81
Calcium 361
CYA 69
Salt 4000
Chlorine 5.1

Thanks for ur reply. My CSI is good. Also I’m referring to my stamped concrete sealer not the actual pool shell/plaster…
Welcome to TFP!

What you are seeing in your pool deck is most probably efflorescense.
What is the base material under the decking?
What was the time period between concrete deck pour and sealing?
How is the water drainage in the area?

What test kit are you using? Test Kits Compared
Self testing with an accurate drop based test kit (see link above) is paramount.

Instead of using the Orenda app, use PoolMath
This will help keep us all on the same page with test results, as different apps use different calculation methods.

Have a read thru Pool Care Basics
Review the FC/CYA Levels

Thanks for ur reply. I’m using Taylor test kit with pool math. I use both apps so I had it in both.

I don’t believe it’s from drainage because it seems to be from pool water and not rain/hose water but not 100%

Waited about 3 months between pouring and sealing so it’s fully cured

Thx for ur input
