Anyway to attach 1.5" pool cleaner hose as your backwash hose?

I am gettin' tired of replacing those cheap quality blue hoses.
I heard some people are using firehoses, I might be interested in that option..
But before looking at that option, I was curious... Can you attach a pool cleaner hose with some sort of middleman attachment?,
I'd like to use the Zodiac G3 cleaner hoses I have ...
I think they are 1.5" inches as seen in their Amazon listing:


I like how they are expandable, so i could buy more if I wanted 50ft or expand to 100ft if I wanted to do different parts of the lawn further away).
I was curious what I'd need to do to attach it to this kind of backwash attachment which is also about 1.5" inches at the interior diameter,
but its also 'ribbed' at the engine side, so its actually a tiny bit bigger than 1.5" when measure to the max exterior width (with a digital caliper I measured the exterior at 1.65"):

Get a standard vacuum hose and attach as in your picture. Not as convenient as a segmented cleaner hose, but can be moved to various locations easily. Or, you could try this:

Yep thats pics of my current setup, so already have the blue vacuum hose attached.
I might give that Hayward a shot. Seems cheap enough to see if it connects to my engine.

I've seen some heavy duty regular pool hoses on amazon like Gorilla or Black Rhino brand. So I might give that a shot as well if above doesn't work.

We use a firehose type unit to run ours out to the street. I’ll likely just continue the PVC all the way down there at some point for simplicity. Just need to decide a semi permanent way to cover it.

I got tired of the "run of the mill" backwash/discharge hoses. Finally thought "Trash Pump Hose"! Similar to This. Your connection choice will depend upon your plumbing. I plumbed a male NPT end on the waste line and connect the female hose end to that. YMMV.

Why don’t u want to go with fire hose? It is cheap, easy to roll up and lasts a long time. The only thing u can’t do is bury it. Althoug I have covered it with Mulch and a little to soil.
I also like that u can buy used fire dept accessories to roll it neatly if u want

Had a couple questions... So if I got the one the other 2 posters mentioned..

1. Would it clamp on onto my 'ribbed' discharge port, or would i have to get something else that connects to that? (if so, what part would i need to get).

Im not really sure what my connection choice would be for this guy.... Imagine the light blue pool cleaner hose on the right-side isn't there... and the left-side isn't covered by the existing dark-blue discharge hose... not sure what can connect to that... or do i need to replace that left-side discharge valve adapter with something similar to what @1poolman1 pasted... but maybe a different connection as what he posted was to put my 1.5" pool hose over:

I put a pvc union on my waste port and hooked up the cheap blue hose to the other half of the union. Keep the hose in the garage and just twist the union together the couple times a season I use it. After a few years the blue hose still looks close to new.

I use a plumbing rubber pipe coupling. it tightens over the male end of the fire hose and the existing black vinyl pipe. It tights by hose clamps and cost about $8. There are also coupler fitting so u can thread the hose into filter directly.

Yes you can connect them. My run to the street is 200 ft, so I have four.
