Opening my pool and want to do it real nice this time

Crystal clear
I think you're officially deprogrammed from the poolstore roller coaster, my friend. New things are scary and NONE of us like change, even when what we were doing wasn't good enough. But you got over that hump in only a handful of weeks and you've got smooth sailing ahead.

WELL done.

All due to ur diligence and hanging in there with all of my thousands of questions 😊👍

This is Mine. Or search 'above ground pool alarm'. There are over the rail and floatie ones.

I'd want a Katch a Kid type mesh fence. Google those and a few other brands will come up. You'd have to sink pipes in the deck, but then you could pop the fence in and out as needed. Or out for the winter.

You could also add a hotel door style slide lock to the backdoor, high enough no littles will reach it. Theres many versions/styles available and would stop access to the yard. If the door has a deadbolt, get a keyed on both sides version and keep the key in a place he can't get too when he's over.

No matter what, set rules and expectations. He can go out back anytime, but get Grammy or Grampy first. Reinforce it often asking what to do if he wants to go out back. He'll end up looking forward to getting someone to go out back with. Grammy went last time. I want Grampy this time !!

Then secure the door anyway.
You r very kind and thoughtful

Hi there. I looked at ur pool alarm but it says in ground pool. Do u think that grand is good enough for its little use as we say just when he is over. I will check out that brand but for above ground pools. Is that easy to take on and off?? And we eill look into that type of fence as well. Sounds like what we r looking for by being able to remove when not needed👍

It literally sits there and hangs over the side. I don't see how it would know the difference. At worst, if it was wobbly you could clamp it to the toprail, which I'd prefer over drilling holes as you originally thought.

The above ground versions were cheaper but the ones I found quickly also seemed cheaper. If you can find an above ground one that looks like its quality, then by all means.

Gravity held mine in place. It had a little handle to pick up like a lunchbox and carry it off when the time came.

They aren't cheap, but it's peanuts if it's ever needed. And keep in mind, grandkid usually turns intto grandkids at some point. Whatever you go with may get years and years of use.

Hey people. Big cleaning day coming soon. With my large qty of liquid bleach that hopefully will keep my pool well. My biggest surprise will be when we get back and i remove the solar cover and check the color and chemistry of the pool. Fingers crossed. Right now my fc is 11 and my ph is 7.8 and my ch is 50 and my TA is 110 and my cc is zero and my CYA is still between the 60 and 70 range. So thats if from here. 👍😊

Let it mix for 20 mins and cover her up.

To help you worry less, I found a couple that aren't even close to our worst success stories. We've seen forclosure / abandoned pools with full blown trees in the black swamp.

No matter what, even if you come home to *some* green, we've fixed WAY worse.

And my own even. (I have actual hands on experience here) :

Kinda like that first true CYA test you ran. Even if it's a little disheartening when you get back, we got you. :)

Ok all. I just added almost 2 full gallons of bleach to slam level for my CYA of 70. My present fc was 12. So i added the suggested amount plus a bit more as u recommended. I brushed the floor of the pool and stirred it ss i walked around the pool with my telescoping handle with brush. Bow waiting 30-45 minutes and will cover the pool. 👍next check next mid week1689378713974.png
