Our dig was complete, rebar put down, and our inspection with the county was completed. That was great until Mother Nature rained for days. PB had rebar team come out today to do repairs. The deep end is still very wet and we noticed that due to mud, there is not space between rebar and dirt or mud in some areas. Is that a problem? PB has Gunite scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. Is this okay for Gunite application?

Yes that is a problem and the pb would have to get rid of the earth that is there now since the rebar needs to be in the middle of the pour and not half inch.

NOPE! FULL STOP!!! That dirt needs to be removed so there is space behind the rebar for the pour!
What they said above - but specifically - the wall cave-ins and the floor all need to have dirt removed to allow half whatever thickness of the shell dimension be behind/under the rebar. My pool builder flunkie called it "mucking out the pool".
I am hopeful that the gunite crew will remove all the dirt.

Ah, optimism reigns eternal......... I doubt very much the gunite crew will do anything if you're not there! Don't let them near the pool until that mess is cleaned out!
