I mostly use 13% chlorine to keep my pool clear but sometimes I like to use tabs for a variety of reasons, such as, when we go out of town or because of all the rain we get here. Question is what’s up with the price? Just a few years ago a 35# pale of tabs cost $85-90, but now it’s $200!!? Whats Up?

Who knows? 🤷‍♀️ I know last year (LAST YEAR!) there was a fire at one (or more?) chlorine plants....but geez, shouldn't they be up and running again by now? Or did they just forget to drop the price as production increased??? I dunno? But I was shocked when I saw the prices last time I was at Lowes. I don't buy any but always check out the pool sections of stores.
Oh, and of course transportation prices went up.

That’s inflation… at work.

All chlorine has gone up. At one point there was a chlorine plant fire that raised prices. It should have come down by now, but companies are slow to lower the price. If you still use Liquid Chlorine, you probably saw the difference in price as well.

I bought a 25lb bucket for Leslie's when it was on sale for $130. It should last at least a year. I only use them when I go on vacation and to increase CYA.

The 2 1/2gal. at pinch-a-penny has been $7.00 for years now..way before the fire. Seems like a little gouging is going on.
