I had a leak in my flexible pvc by the skimmer a pin hole. I repaired it but did not have to remove the skimmer. The two skimmers are connected to a Tee fitting then one line goes to the pump about 60ft. I uncovered most of the plumbing so my thought was was removing most the plumbing up to the skimmers and replacing the flexible pvc with a pair of 2in rigid pvc towards the pump with two valves to shut off either valve when needed for vacuuming. There would be a short piece of flexible line to each skimmer which are 1.5in. I am just prepping for the future since I have most of the line uncovered. Would this create any problems? I am not ready to remove skimmers at this point, and never replaced a an inground skimmer.

Coupling the 2in pvc to the 1.5in flex hose will not cause a problem.

The more flex hose you remove the better.
