Starting up a cold tub we have at work for after workout use. It's 477 gallons has a filter system. Any special considerations for colder (40 degrees) setups? Also, any way to vacuum with water in it? Probably easier to just drain and re-fill when it gets enough sand in it. Its a ColdTub Polar plunge. Piecing together a testing setup from leftovers at home. Will test monday.

After searching around on here, i was using the r-0014 on the larger PH test kit. I'll retest monday with the correct reagent

There are numerous vacuums for spas available. Shop for one that suits your situation.
What is it made of (stainless, fiberglass, etc)? You may have some special considerations if it's metal.
Any gadgets (ozone, uv, ionizer, etc)?
Its stainless. The Polar Plunge™ - Cold Tub
Its got a bunch of stuff but I doubt any of it is working. It was at another unit's building for a couple years then hand me downed to us. Nobody has taken care of anything I don't think. I cleaned filter and skimmer and balanced water for now using bleach and some spare pucks i had. Probably just going to drain it and dry vac. It gets use from maybe 5 people and for a few times a week. Should be pretty easy. Its under overhead cover and has insulated cover over actual pool.

It says that tub has a SWCG.

If that is the case, then you want to do the following.

Balance your water.

Add Salt. The Polar Plunge takes 7.69 lbs of salt - or 2000 ppm, which honestly seems low, but it may be what the built in SWCG likes.

Use dichlor to augment your FC in order to build up your CYA to around 20-30 ppm or so.

Then just monitor your FC, if it seems too low, increase the output of the SWGC and augment with bleach if necessary.

Yeah i saw that in the manual. I have zero faith that this thing was properly maintained from the get go so have zero faith that the SWGC portion would work. I'm using personal funds for this a few minutes a day process :) Right now I have the water balanced and filter cleaned. We'll see how it goes.

Drained and cleaned everything out. Got it cleaned up nice and then started fill. Got to halfway up the skimmer and turned the pumps on. About a pound of scale came out of the jets? WTH! Did draining and then leaving the plumbing dry for a day possibly cause everything to break loose? It's tucson fill water so very hard.
