Humorous comments in another group

Hey all

3 year TFP member here. I posted a "Tip of the day" in a couple of my Facebook pool groups. This tip of the day was to get a good test kit and to join Trouble Free Pool. Very few negative comments but one that struck me as most humorous was this one:

"Tfp is horrible" He then took 10 hours to respond that Tfp is horrible because of the disclaimer. "We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message and are not responsible for the contents of any message"

This member goes on to say that TFP had to put this disclaimer after lawsuits years ago. He goes on to say he's a tech / install person and to me he sounds like he's illogical and has an agenda.

Another member said he pays $125 a month for a pool care service so no need to learn pool chemistry to "save pennies". I've never heard that one.

I don't know about the first member's claims but I found both hilarious and thought you all would enjoy!

Some people. Ugh.

I have seen posts like that as well. Usually if you respond with facts they block you and remove your posts. Let's face it, with TFP there is no real need for an entire industry of course they are defensive about it.

Years ago when I had a pool route the manager of the commercial pool I was cleaning complainet to me that the health inspector had said " 3" pucks in the skimmer will not add chlorine to the pool because the filter will "absorb it out of the water before it returns to the pool!!??

Having gotten to work with a few building inspectors and my neighbor being a plumbing inspector for a neighboring county, I say with some confidence that the majority of inspectors previously worked in the industry they are inspecting. I'd put money that inspector worked on pools before he got tired of it and decided the government job had a better retirement plan.

Though that lie does prevent putting pucks in a skimmer, which is a good thing. Darn moral ambiguity! :pth:

Every fb pool group I have joined I have deleted after about two days because I just really can’t. It drives me crazy. I’ll get my fill of crazy nonsense from my neighborhood group, that’s plenty for me! I have like a chronically low blood pressure & heart rate but all the crazy misinformation gets it up there quick. I can’t handle the stress lol 😂

I'm sorry about your physical condition. But that was a true story and not misinformation. That pool was a lucrative account and I ended up losing it because of this individuals incompetence. I suffered great financial pain because of it. I did find out that this inspector had no prior experience in the pool industry

Im sorry to read that.

Typically inspectors are licensed and regulated, and are required to enforce a code. They cant make up rules as they see fit, and they arent supposed to make comments like that.

I would have filed a formal complaint with his regulatory agency, and had a meeting with his boss. Then that nonsense would stop.

It h happened 47 years ago which is why I was surprised at one of the responses to my post. It's funny now.
