What's your swg?
I have it listed in my signature. It's a Hayward TurboCell S340 which, I believe, is close to being the same as the T-Cell-15.

Click on the circled magnifying glass to search for your swg. If it isn't listed find one that is the same "size" or similar.
I did click on the magnifying glass and mine is not listed under the Hayward options.

I'll look into that link you posted to the other thread. Thanks for your replies! :)

Hayward links show it as 40K. A Hayward TurboCell S340 (40 being the operative number) representing a 40K pool. So yes, use a T-15 on the PoolMath APP. :goodjob:
Yeah I just stumbled on that thanks to a link that clambert1273 shared above. In the app, there is only one T-Cell listed and it's a T-Cell-5, not a 15. There are two AquaRite models listed that are T-15 and according to what I read in that link, it appears my SWG produces 1.45 lbs/day.

Also, I found it interesting (maybe it's just me overthinking) that the SWG they installed for my pool is rated for a 40K gallon pool yet mine is 15K gallons. Once I realized that, I have been running the chlorinator at 38%. If you run it at 100% it would be overkill on the chlorine right? So I divided 15 by 40 and got 37.5 and I simply rounded up to 38%. Does that work? Did I think through that correctly?

I just ordered the TF-Pro Salt kit and I'm anxious to use it and post what my pool chemistry looks like.

Exactly. A big reason we always recommend owners get an SWG rated for at least 2X the size of their pool is so that it doesn't have to work at 100% and wear itself out sooner. The fact you have a larger rated SWG means running at a lower output % and/or being on for less hours. It's a win-win for you.

North Texas is getting crazy amounts of rain right now. It has surpassed the height of my skimmer. I put the sump pump in and shut off the pump. Hopefully those are the right things to do. Still waiting on my TF Pro kit but have been adding 5ppm of chlorine for the past two days.

Just got home from work and saw that my TF Pro Salt kit is here! I have it open right now just checking everything out. I don’t see any instructions. I see a “TF-Pro Test Kit Tips” insert, a sliver of paper stating “Salt Water Test Instructions”, and instructions for the portable magnetic stirrer. That’s it. Zero instructions on how to use the reagents and do actual testing. Am I just an imbecile…LOL? Should I already know what to do? The kit itself is awesome but I need to know what to do.

@Liquid did a nice writeup and test chart...
tf-100-chart-jpg.491528

First off, let me apologize! There WAS a laminated card in the top mesh that somehow I didn't pay any attention to when I was getting into that kit like a 5 year old on Christmas morning LOL! With that said, I LOVE THE KIT!!! It's gonna take some time to get used to but I'm all in and therefore I'll become faster as I improve. So, here's my 1st test results with the kit:

FC: 7.0
CC 0.5
pH: 8.2
TA: 120
CH: 250
CYA: 50
Salt: 3600
Temp: 81 degrees
CSI: 0.50

From what I understand from this awesome site, my FC/CYA is within reason although I know it should be higher with having a SWG right? Salt is high but I recently added two bags about 2-3 days ago. While waiting for the kit to arrive, I dumped 5ppm of LC per day for three days. Let's hear it folks! Hopefully I'm not too bad.

Not a bad start at all.

When the PH stops being a 7, add Muriatic acid per poolmath to bring it to 7.6. Test 15 minutes later (pump running) to ensure you reached your target. Anything high looks like 8.2. It might be 9.2 and your dose lowers it to 8.8 and it still looks like 8.2. Lol. Anywho, lather, rinse, repeat until the PH is a 7 again.

As you manage the PH, the TA will come down on its own and settle in where it wants to be.

The salt is fine for now. You should get plenty of rain and the salt level will come down over time.

FC could use a couple more ppm, for wiggle room as you learn.

Glad my mesh suggestion worked 😂😂

Muriatic acid can be added slowly next to one of the returns right or do I need to mix it with water 1st? I'm still trying to figure out my FC. I have a SWG and it's set to 38% (rated for 40K gallons and I have a 15K gallon pool) and obviously I want that to do the majority of the heavy lifting for FC as opposed to always having to add LC.

As for my CH, I have a fiberglass pool with no tile above the water line...just the concrete surrounding the pool and it's roughly 4-6" up from the water. How important is it really to have CH in the ideal range of 350-550?

Thanks!

Oooooh. And it's going to be stupid hot in TX soon.

Overnight Chlorine Loss Test to ensure there is no algae bloom starting. Then raise the CYA to 70. Hang granuals in a sock, carrot on a stick like, in front of a running return. It will squeeze out after some time.

I make Texas heat look like winter 😂😂
