My TA is out of kilter with a reading of 100 three days ago. I lowered the the pH to 7.2 and began an aeration process using a sump pump and upturned water returns. This morning the TA reading is 90. My question is do I repeat the process i.e. lower the pH again and continue to aerate. I'll include the other readings in case needed.
FC: 7.0
CC: 0
TA: 90
CYA: 50
pH: 7.8

How fast is your pH rising? If not very fast, don't sweat it. But if the pH rises extremely fast, then sure, work on the TA a bit more to bring it down to about 60. Let the pH rise to about 8.0 before you use enough acid to lower it to 7.2. That should help.

There is no need to aggressively address a TA of 90 (or even 100). You do have a SWCG so it may create some scale flakes but beyond that, there is no threat to person or equipment.

Maintain your pH in the 7's. The TA will manage itself.

Thank you. the day just got a bit brighter
