From a Basic Lawn to Private Resort - We Have A Pool! Controlling Pollen...

Quick question, the travertine coping is going in, but I want to make sure that it is being placed correctly on the bond beam. Please see the first two pictures and let me know your thoughts @ajw22, @kimkats , @Newdude. I love how things are looking aesthetically though! 20230411_175447.jpg20230411_175428.jpg20230412_102659.jpg20230412_102708.jpg20230412_102719.jpg. Thanks in advance!

Have you played "slip sliding away" in the clay yet??? That *stuff* (NOT the s word I want to say LOL) is slick and does not come out of clothes!
Oh how I know 🤣. It's raining again today and tomorrow, meaning more water and clay to come 🙄

The rain is holding off this morning, so the stone crew is back. They are installing our stone surround on the spa and still working on the coping. I can't wait for our yard to be cleaned up.

Also, keep your eyes peeled in the hood. A lady a few blocks away was throwing out an area rug so I free cycled it to catch some incoming dirt from the 4 legged friends and the bipeds who havent moved out yet. I rednecked a barrier to only be able to come in on the rug.

They were back out today finishing up the coping, splitface, and spa face work. I love the npt equinox midnight blue in both the sun and shade, it gives sparkle in the sun and a nice rich blue in overcast lighting. I had them change the way they were doing the spillway because it screamed outdated to me. I love how they worked the coping around the spillway to show rounded corners. They did a really gòod job and were very pleasant when I made a few small requests while they were working. Waiting on our 2 steps for the spa to be installed next. We are very pleased with how things are looking thus far. I'll try to get some closeups of the spa face tomorrow. Picture 1 is the way they started the spillway, the last 2 pictures show the end result. They will do the trim work on the baja, benches, steps, and 2 wall markers for us at the plaster phase. PB Super doesn't want our trim tile to get scratched up or damaged before plaster work starts in which I'm forever grateful.

I can't wait to see the spill over tile up close. That is going to WOW everyone who sees it in real life! Well done! Good job asking them to change the spill over on the fly. It really looks like your crew has some skills! SWEET!

Thanks Kim! I'm going out there this afternoon to get some more pictures. I was so afraid of the tile being too dark of a blue which is why I didn't choose it in the first place, but seeing it all come together, it's beautiful in person. In the sun it flashes a few colors when the light hits it just right. It's giving a nice Greecian vibe. I was smiling and I caught my hubby smiling several times throughout the day as we watched them work from our kitchen windows. The spa is for him, I didn't want it but I think that I got his approval with the finishes so far. The Stonescapes Aqua White finish is the piece that I'm most excited to see and I hope it doesn't disappoint. 🥰

The Mrs wanted a deep end bench and patio stairs into the house. She cared zero about any other decision, so I happily relented those two.

Oh. And salt. She wad dead set for SWG, while knowing nothing about caring for the pool. All she knew was that she liked the feel of the old pool, and it never had the problems that everyone else we knew had. But that was no compromise, I was dead set on SWG as well. :ROFLMAO:

Lets count all of the ways this is a great job!!!
-Look at the spa overflow! Now THAT is a work of art. I will be using this to show to others as THE way to do it! I can't wait to see it in action!!!
-Now look at the coping on either side of the coping. Notice how they did not cut a stone short. Instead they did precise cuts to make a great finish point on either side. You have some skilled workers on your job!
-Next is the WONDERFUL BLUE tile (drool!). Look how even the grout is. You cannot tell if they came off sheets or in single rows. They are as even as can be! Well done tile guys!!!
