Solar Cover Questions

I'm thinking about getting a solar cover for my 27' above ground pool, mainly to keep debris out. I've got a few questions:

Can I use my robotic cleaner with the cover on?

Well the pump still circulate water through the skimmer effectively with the cover on?

Also, let's see your homemade storage systems!

I have on my pool. When it climbs the wall it just pushes up on the cover. However, sometimes it makes it a little easier to get the cord tangled.

Yes but there will be no skimming of debris. That will be on top of the cover.

I am assuming you mean the cover?

Great, thanks for the input. Yeah, cover storage/roll-up systems.

We have had a solar cover on our AG pools for a long time. Being we had round pools we never bought a cover reel, just bunched it up and laid it either on the grass or over some chairs. We got a new pool last year and we talked about putting up PVC solar cover holders in the back of the pool but we decided against it. The filter will work fine, won't be doing any skimming but the water will probably not get very dirty. Round pools have the advantage of creating a center spot where all the dirt collects which makes debris easy to get up. I would think a robotic cleaner would work under the cover, we've always had suction side cleaners and the cover needs to be off for the ones we had/have. You may be surprised on how clean the pool stays with a solar cover.

Thanks for the input. Happy to hear the cover will really help keep it clean, that's what I'm hoping for.

One last thing I've found is the chlorine lasts a while as well. We have always had the blue color solar cover, not sure if clear is the same.
