It is difficult to see the difference in pictures but the Altima product is more closely related to standard plaster, so it may be smooth to the touch. The Luna Quartz is more aggregate so it may be rougher when you feel it.

Look at the video from Wet Edge

Hi @HermanTX - This is really helpful, thank you. I found the pool plaster to be pretty smooth, but I have not owned a pool before so have nothing to compare it to. My kids and I never had any scrapes or abrasions from the plaster, which I'd anticipate from a rougher plaster.

The next option is to call a pool builder or even a pool service tech to come out and touch it and provide their opinion. You have not stated why you wish to know which plaster you have. Do you have plans to change or alter something?

Pool builder installed the wrong plaster. Should have been Altima Blue. They're offering to chip it out and replace w/ Altima Blue, but recommended we don't because they installed Luna Quartz Polar White, which is a premium plaster over Altima. I agree with them, but don't trust them given all the other issues we had during the build. I think they may be positioning the plaster as Luna Quartz Polar White to avoid having to do a chip out/replace, which is what I'd ask them to do if it was actually Altima White.

Do you have any pictures of the bags of aggregate they brought for the plaster? Alternatively, ask them to give you a name of a client where they actually put Luna Quartz (no matter the color) and touch it yourself and try to compare to what you have. Another option is for them to give you some money back for the inconvenience and not providing what you wanted regardless if they gave you a better product or not.

Thanks for the ideas. I don't have a photo of the aggregate and they have offered a $1k credit. They also put everything in writing so I suppose this summer when it's open I can always go back to them if I find out they actually put in Altima White.
