Pool install will be April 2023, but I need a compliant fence. West is open and East is neighbor’s chain link - I’ll install 6’ vinyl privacy on those sides. North side has me stumped, as my property borders two other properties with fences (see photo). Northeast is mostly compliant 4’ vinyl - I would need to replace the gate. I share ownership of that fence, so I don’t foresee an issue doing that. Northwest fence is wooden and climbable from the other side and continues to their next neighbor, so offering to “upgrade” their fence isn’t feasible, as it’s only half their yard.
Options:
1a) I could install 6’ vinyl about 3’ inside my property line (to account for climbable fence. Cleanest install, but loss of land, hard to maintain between, northeast neighbors will have to see my tall fence through our 4’ picket fence…
1b) Do 1b above and replace our shared fence with 6’ privacy fence. Is this even possible using the same posts? Neighbors may not agree, since the rest of their fence wouldn’t match. I could offer this later, too.
2) Have a 4’ black aluminum fence run 3’ inside the wooden fence to fix climbable issue. Make it a flowerbed- break an ankle trying to weed it
Or add a gate at one end?
3) Rather not fence around the pool itself, since the pool will be to one side of the yard and a fence around it will segregate the rest of the yard, but I guess it’s an option. Do pool fences have to be installed in concrete? If not, this could be a temporary permanent option.
4) Other options I’ve not thought of?
TIA!
