Signs of Algae at bottom of pool every morning

If you need FC of 28 you have not achieved that @26. Go back to poolmath and figure out to add that, then check in 15 minutes if you have reached it. FYI for a OCLT you don't need slam level but rather just the target for your CYA.

Wow - I didn’t realize how precise this method is. Just added 40 ozs

If the 26 FC was after th sun had set that is your start number. Test again in the AM before the sun is on the pool for your end number. A FC loss of greater than 1ppm = the start of a SLAM

Now that I’m using liquid chlorine. I’m going away for four days. How do I maintain my fc level. Prior to now I used tabs in an automated chlorinator??

That is what the tabs are for, but you have to understand the CYA goes up during their use. The TFP method is not about not using anything, it's about the knowledge of what the use causes.

K-2006 using 25 ml - is this what you are asking?
Yep, thanks! The 10mL sample has a resolution of .5ppm per drop. The 25mL sample has a resolution of .2ppm per drop. It is not possible to get a .26ppm result. Can you share a bit more on the number of drops you used to get what you think is .26ppm?

I made a mistake I used the 10 ml sample

I had 52 drops

Then i later added another gallon of chlorine 10% and I got 55 drops - 27.5 ppm

Your best bet is to get your FC to slam level *right* before you leave. Slam level for CYA of 80 (your pool math logs) is 31 FC. FC/CYA Levels

I only had 1 last gallon (after I initially added 2gallons) and it only raised it to 27.5.

Tomorrow I’ll recheck the levels and then buy more chlorine to be able to raise it to 31

Did you see my question above re pool math ?

Can you tell me if pool math has a calculator to determine the amount of chlorine to add to calculate Slam value?
Re-read. Yes, in upper left corner, three horizontal lines. Click. Choose effects of adding. Will tell you how much to add to increase FC.

OR, click FC, from home page, in Pool Math, enable SLAM, ignore the warning and follow the instructions.

Chlorine does degrade:

Going back to an earlier comment ,,, Could the “white stuff” on the pool floor be calcium from the cal-hypo? Cal-hypo dissolves slowly. When I had dead algae, it was never white.

Just a thought.
