Need completion advice, the sub that was a rock star who did my tile , coping and now working on my 1300 sq ft sandblasted marble pavers deck went MIA on the PB. There is work to be done on my very expensive deck: mastic between the coping and deck, more sand in paver lines, smooth of some of the cuts around the curves, cut of an overhang of where the pavers over extended the deck etc The PB wants to do the stonescapes plaster/ fill and then have them fix all the deck stuff with another of their Sub crews. My gut is no finish the deck first , any downside to doing what the PB suggests?

My plaster and pool fill was the very last thing. I cannot imagine why they would want to do something else before plaster and fill since this will result in stuff getting in the new pool.

Another school of thought is you do the deck after the plaster.

You don't want the plaster crew stomping all over your expensive deck. And there is a chance there will be plaster overspray that may get on the deck.

This member had damage to his deck after the plaster crew was finished...

It is easier to clean whatever debris falls into your pool from the deck work then it is to fix gouges, scratches, and stains in the deck from the plaster crew.
