Hi all. I have a 23000 gallon pool. I just put two gallons of chlorine in yesterday.
My CYA is at around 47. In rush regularly but woke up to some green algae on my steps and walls. My chlorine level is at I would say 3. PH at 7.8. If I did it right my CC is at 2. I believe this should be 0. Should I get my FC up to 5 or 6?

I use my test kit to start, the follow up by taking the water to Leslie’s pools for free test. My phosphates are high. At 500 right now. I don’t have a lot of algae. Surface green on the steps.

You have algae.
What test kit? We do not trust pool store tests. Phosphates, if at that level, are of no consequence.

Great. All you need is the FAS-DPD or K1515 kit to be able to manage your pool water chemistry.

Not sure what you mean. The K1515 is a FAS DPD kit only for FC/CC testing to 50 ppm. Your kit has a DPD for FC testing, color match, to 10 ppm.
How old is your current kit?

Good evening all. As some on you know I had my water tested today. Everything looks decent. My PH is at 8. I want to lower it to 7.6. I have a 23000 gallon pool. Leslie’s test said I need to add 41 oz of muriatic acid. When I plug this into my calculator from TFP it says I only need 8 ounces. Am I missing something here?
