I went to WMT yesterday to buy some Pool Essentials 10% liquid chlorine. Most of the jugs were dated 22 018! They had 7 that were 22 157, so I bought all of those.

Remember, always check the date on the liquid chlorine that you buy!

We had one poor member that needed to SLAM. She went to HD and bought 10 jugs of chlorine. When it was not even pushing the FC up 1 ppm we had her find the date stamp. It was 2 YEARS old and kept outside! She took the 2 empty jugs and the 8 full jugs back to the store and got her money back BUT she had to fight with them as they said there was nothing wrong with it

I needed chlorine for a couple days before getting the SWG running a couple weeks ago. I went to HD and they were out so I checked Lowes inventory from the HD aisle and they had a bunch so I ran over to Lowes. They were on the top shelf and it took a kid 20 mins to finish up what he was already doing and then go find the scissor lift. When he got the jugs down they were from Februaty and they were $6.97. Off to Walmart we went where they had week old chlorone that day.

I needed to secure bleach *one time* and it was too many.

True!
In May the jugs cost $4.63; now they're $4.97.
Last year they were $3.74, so that's a 32.9% increase over a year, which is almost 4x the rate of inflation!
The chlorine at the stores I buy went from $10/4 gallons last year to $15/4 gallons this year.

A few months ago, i found some chlorine dated 2020 at lowes...and stored outside. Safe to say it was essentially salt water at that point.

Regarding price...i went to Leslie's last week (don't worry, just for a skimmer pole) and their 10% chlorine was $20 for 2 gallons! 2 gallons of muriatic acid were $30. That's more than double the price of Walmart, lowes, ace, etc. Who in the heck is buying chemicals from Leslie's?!
